Safeguarding legislation and government guidance says that safeguarding means:
Safeguarding includes child protection, health care plans, health and safety, site security, safety on school trips, anti-bullying work and so much more.
Our school safeguarding team works closely with local agencies and shares information as appropriate, to ensure that we do all we can to support students with safeguarding issues as they arise.
Key Safeguarding Team members are:
In addition to this other key staff have Level 3 DSL training to support students and senior staff in the safeguarding of students.
Members of staff can use ‘MyConcern’ to report concerns.
Students are encouraged to report any concerns to a member of staff. We use assemblies and key lessons to make students aware of issues related to safeguarding, to enable them to report things to a trusted adult.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility – should you have any concerns please report them as soon as possible.
If at any time you have concerns whether for yourself and your child or for any other young person, please contact the school safeguarding/child protection team, or you can contact Barking & Dagenham Children’s services on 020 8227 3811.
