Mayesbrook students praised by Billingsgate Market

Students from Mayesbrook Park School have received high praise from Billingsgate Market following their recent visit, where they helped prepare, cook and serve a seafood menu as part of a practical learning experience.

In a letter to the school, Julia Kanji, General Manager (Superintendent) of Billingsgate Market, congratulated the students on their outstanding contribution and the professionalism they demonstrated throughout the day.

Guests attending the event were impressed not only by the quality of the food but also by the students' attitude, teamwork and commitment. Julia wrote that the pupils brought ‘exceptional care, focus and pride’ to every aspect of the experience and represented both themselves and the school exceptionally well.

She added: ‘The school should be extremely proud of these young people. From what we saw yesterday, I am confident they have bright futures ahead, whether in hospitality or in any other path they choose.’

The recognition reflects the hard work, enthusiasm and dedication shown by the students throughout the project. It also highlights the value of providing young people with real-world experiences that help build confidence, develop practical skills and showcase their talents.

We are incredibly proud of our students and would like to thank the team at Billingsgate Market for their continued support and encouragement.
