Students’ RIBA visits build confidence and knowledge
Building on last year’s collaborations with architectural professionals on the Design Future London Challenge, Mayesbrook Park students continue to find inspiration and learn through visits to the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in central London.
This February, Year 10 students attended engaging lectures and took part in practical activities led by professional architects and artists at the RIBA’s Portland Place HQ, exploring the built environment, its impact on the natural world, architectural design processes and career opportunities within the field.
Callum, one of the visiting students, said: "I really enjoyed looking at the beautiful architecture books in the RIBA bookshop. The visit helped me to understand that you can read books but that the pictures of buildings also have their own stories to tell.”
