Recently students from Year 8 to Year 11 at Mayesbrook Park attended a special History reward trip to the Vaudeville Theatre to watch Six, the award-winning musical about the six wives of Henry VIII.
The trip was a great success, offering more than just entertainment—it brought historical events to life, helping students better understand the complex relationships Henry VIII had with his wives. One student remarked, ‘It helped me understand: 2 beheaded, 2 divorced, 1 died, and 1 survived.’ Another added, ‘The show made me understand the difficult relationships the wives had with Henry.’
Students were enthusiastic about the experience, with several sharing positive feedback:
‘It was so unexpected’ and ‘I enjoyed it so much.’
Throughout the trip, students demonstrated exemplary behaviour, representing Mayesbrook Park School with pride. The theatre visit not only enhanced students historical knowledge but also offered a cultural experience that will stay with them for years to come.
