On Monday 14th July 2025, students from the Erkenwald campus enjoyed an action-packed day at Adventure Island in Southend.
The trip was more than just a fun day out—it gave students the chance to build valuable life skills in a lively and exciting setting. From navigating busy crowds and listening carefully to instructions, to working together and trying new rides, the day supported their personal and social development in a practical way.
Throughout the day, students demonstrated great teamwork and resilience, with many pushing themselves out of their comfort zones and supporting each other. Staff noted how well the group listened and interacted, making the most of every opportunity the trip had to offer.
When asked about the experience, students all agreed they had a brilliant time. ‘It was the best trip I’ve ever been on!’ said one, while another added, ‘I didn’t think I’d go on the big rides - but I did, and I’m glad I did it.’
The Adventure Island trip was a great way to celebrate the end of term while continuing to build the confidence, independence and teamwork that help students thrive both in and out of the classroom.
